Hey, I'm 20 and in NYC, looking to start a band with 3-4 more musicians. For the most part I want to go for a synth/psychadelic pop sound with a sprinkle of jazz and/or maybe RnB. I'm hoping to find a group to grow with musically for the longterm. I'm looking predominately for a drummer, a guitarist and/or bass, and an MPC/producer. Big bonus if you can sing or like to compose/write. I'm pretty easy to get along with, and I've been told that I can be a lot of fun, so hmu.
The song in the link is more cutesy than what I'm looking to do. I'd love to go for a more melancholic vibe, and super open to experimenting with different stuff.
Influences include:
Sky Ferreira, Lykke Li, Tame Impala, Wet, Wild Child, Kendrick Lamar, serpentwithfeet, A$ap Rocky, James Blake, Lana Del Rey, Khalid, Lo Fang, Alicia Keys Florence & the Machine, with a touch of Peaches b/c why not. I'd also like to incorporate some older styles like Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Animals, on the rock side and Ella Fitzgerald, Otis Redding, Nancy Sinatra on the other end.
